Menlo Church Baby Dedication/Baptism Inquiry

As soon as our kids are born we start doing some pretty strange things. We talk in funny voices. We pay money to see people dressed up as cartoon characters. Things such as sleep and clean shirts become mere luxuries. In the end, we subject ourselves to these things because we are head over heels in love with our kids, and they are completely worth it.

Making a promise to raise our kids in a home where they can grow in a deep relationship with God is a huge way of showing them how much we love them and want only the best for their life. Not only is this a huge honor, but it is also a calling from God. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Proverbs 22:6)

Baby Dedication/Baptism is a marking-the-moment celebration where parents publicly commit to raising their children to know and follow Jesus. Parents choosing to have their infants baptized are observing God’s gracious initiative in loving us first.
