Backpack Drive 2026 - For The Bay

Why Backpacks? 1 in 5 Bay Area students struggle with poverty. The $80-$120 needed for school supplies is out of their reach. Education is a critical tool in breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Join Menlo Church and Family Giving Tree in being "For the Bay" and helping to set kids up to succeed. Our Goal: 700 Backpacks for Bay Area Kids. How to Participate: Pick up a tag and shopping list for the age group you want to purchase a backpack for at any Menlo Church Campus on Sunday, June 14, 21 or 28 (or print by downloading the attached PDF below). Shop and Pack. Grab your family or friends and head to your favorite backpack/school supply store for all the goodies on the list. Please do comply to the list and don’t go rogue. Pray. After packing the backpack, pause and pray for the child who will receive it. Drop the Backpack at any Menlo Campus on Sunday July 5, 12, or 19. We will not be able to receive backpacks during the week. Help on Backpack drop off Sundays. We will need folks greeting and collecting backpacks.
